Leisure and pleasure

The Everyday Power Blog alerted me to this book which highlights the importance of positive thinking. I am going to read Tribby’s book and will report back. Perhaps my hate of television noise and my wish for a television free home is now explained…

positiver

I found some really good positive affirmations and have picked a few to repeat daily on my mirror.

Speaking of positive people with goals this week I thought I would share a few friends blogs and their goals with you for inspiration. As you probably realise from reading my blog I am constantly setting myself goals (30-30, 2012, 2011).

goals

My goals recently they have moved onto my mirror in my bedroom to be updated and viewed (thanks Tami for the inspiration).

I hosted another dinner party with friends on Sunday as my good friend Rachael is preparing to move to Canada for a year. Rach is a keen traveller and a digital marketing specialist. I love reading her blog and keeping up to date with her goals whether it is moving to a new country or kicking butt in tango.

Happy travels Rach

Happy travels Rach

Rach recently lent me Seb Terry’s 100 Things book, such a good read and a good way to get you motivated! (If you look at my goals picture above you can see the book lying on my dressing table).

I was lucky enough to be taken as Rachael’s guest to the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in their “Return to City Hall” performance on Monday night. Such a talented group of performers. The Brisbane Town Hall is beautiful. I loved the ornate scotia angels and the giant blue circle at the centre of the ceiling.

sonja

I got mail this week! Including flowers from Soph and a card and a lucky Irish pin from Sonja all the way from Scotland!

Sonja and Jess on their recent Easter trip to Norway

Speaking of Sonja, check out her travel blog for tips and information about travel and backpacking. Sonja has just returned from Norway and travelling by train around Scotland, is in London reviewing their sites this week and is going onto Thailand next week.

Gary‘s blog & Gary‘s health blog

Another awesome blogger and inspirational person I have been keeping up with lately is Gary, a personal trainer from the UK who is in the process of organising a massive bike ride across Australia. He also runs another blog where he gives free tips and health advice. Get in contact with Gary if you think you can help with his bike ride across Aussie.

Finally… randomly…

Chris taking the dogs for a walk

Chris taking the dogs for a walk

My brother’s dog Charlie (centre) lives with two Malamutes, Leah and Luke. This picture was posted on facebook the other day by my brother’s flatmate who is in charge whilst lil bro is in Asia.

Charlie continues to believe that he too is a Malamute and gets depressed when is isn’t out sledding as well. Hierarchy between the dogs was created about half a year ago after Charlie tried to take Luke’s food. He got a fright and Chris and my brother had to take him to the vet to get a calming injection after he had a panic attack and couldn’t breathe, there haven’t been any problems since Charlie realised that he is at the bottom of the heap. My parents continue to enjoy babysitting, even when Charlie squeezes through the fence and escapes and is handed into the SPCA or pees on my parents new carpet.

Love Kim
